Taylor's College Project Phunk Official Launch Helps Hospis Malaysia
(China Press, Central - pg 9, 20 September 2007)

PJ 19) Taylor's College became the support unit of Hospis Malaysia with Project Phunk. They have donated at least RM5000 for Hospis Malaysia to help more people during this project. 54 students from Diploma in Mass Communication, Taylor's College, set up and planned "Project Phunk" within two and a half months, they hope to assist Hospis Malaysia, and show their love and care to them at the same time.

In Project Phunk's official launch - PHUNKtion this afternoon, the guests who attended included: Dr. Kee, the Academic Director of Taylor's College Petaling Jaya; Dr. Sylvia Ann McCarthy,the Deputy Medical Director of Hospis Malaysia, Ms. Deborah Henry, Miss Malaysia in 2007; Ms. Belinda Chee, Christien New and Lavin Seow, the famous artists and hosts.

Before the official launch, the organizers had some fund-raising events, included PHUNK T-shirts sales, teddy bears sales, donation drive and heal the heart, to devote warm and love.

Project PHUNK Manager Mr. Thomas said that, they will be having the main event - "One Night with PHUNK" at Laundry Bar, The Curve on this coming Tuesday (25 September 2007); it is free admission. However, they encourage the people who attend this event to spend RM10 for a raffle ticket, which entitles them to participate in a lucky draw, and a goodie bag. He said that some local artists will be invited to attend this party and it'll be a crowded night. He emphasized that, this project not only targets students, but also the adults who can take part in it too.

"We came up with this project, because we met the patients from Hospis Malaysia before. We hope that we can help them further." Thomas honestly said that, they faced many obstacles at first, like getting sponsors. But, as a result of the teamwork of every member, all the problems have been solved. He also added that, life should be fair, and various races, religions and background of the society should not be an issue.
